2020-2021 Choir Placements
We hope you are all doing well. After considering different options for next year’s choirs, we have decided the following to be the best solution for each of you to be successful in the best possible way. As you know with the COVID-19 pandemic this year, we’ve lost twelve weeks of learning singing techniques, sight reading and musicianship skills. We know from our past experience that we can BEST teach these skills in gender groups (Treble Choirs and Tenor/Bass Choirs.)
Also in our decision-making we’ve had to consider the guidelines from TEA and the CDC which we foresee recommending smaller class sizes for reopening of our schools in the Fall. After carefully considering our options, we have decided to return to having an Advanced Treble Choir 3rd period, a 9th Grade Treble Choir 5th period and a Tenor Bass Choir 2nd period. Rebel Singers will no longer be a Mixed Choir next year. Since it was our largest choir, it made the most sense to split it into smaller choirs. Other high schools in our district have made similar decisions.
After reflecting on the choir rosters, if you have questions or would like clarification about your placement, you may email
[email protected] or [email protected]
only next week (June 1-June 5). As a reminder, schedule request changes are not being considered by counselors at this time.
We care about each and every one of you and believe we have made the best decision for you to be the most successful in your next school year in choir.
Please know we have your best in mind.
